I have always been interested in china and the people of china this cultural finder all over the world in fact I liked to learn more of this beloved country and its language. Secondly I have chosen this university because I knew that it is characterized by its disciplines in petroleum and petro-chemistry as well as it operates with the joint support of both the local provincial government and the three major oil companies in China ( CNPC, SINOPEC, and CNOOC ). XSYU is fully reinforced on scientific research. Program Description
Brief Introduction
This program is designed to train foreign senior specialized technical personnel who has basic theories of engineering and professional knowledge of petroleum engineering with an international vision.
Training Objective
Students of this major will focus on studying fundamental theories of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, Geology, Engineering Science, and basic knowledge related to petroleum engineering, receiving basic training on petroleum engineering in order to develop basic abilities of conducting drilling and completion of oil-gas fields, designing, constructing and managing oil extraction and oil-gas development projects, as well as doing primary application researches and scientific development.
Graduates should obtain knowledge and abilities as follows:
- Basic theories and knowledge related to Mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, geology, computer science, and petroleum engineering.
- Basic abilities of conducting development and design of oil-gas fields through applying mathematical, geological and systematical mechanical theories.
- Basic abilities of designing oil-gas drilling and extraction projects through fundamental theories and knowledge.
- Primary designing abilities of ordinary drilling and extraction tools as well as equipment machinery.
- Primary abilities of analyzing and solving practical problems of petroleum engineering by fundamental theories as well as conducting technological innovation and scientific researches.
- Primary abilities of producing, operating and managing petroleum engineering using systematic engineering methods and modern economic knowledge.

The duration of this program is four years. Students should obtain 144.5 credits, among which 116.5 credits of course studying and 28 credits of practice; also pass the HSK examination.
